Harmonising the building with the surrounding landscape
This thoroughly contemporary project is made up of three habitable levels, mainly given over to living space and relaxation. It is located in an attractive neighbourhood and has been planned on the base of an older building.
The project is organised horizontally east/west by level: at the centre of the volume, the day area (kitchen, utility room, dining and living room) upstairs, the children's sleeping area (2 bedrooms with work space and wet room), and on the lower ground floor the parents' sleeping area (bedroom, wet room, dressing room, small living room), a spa (sauna, steam room, jacuzzi) and a guest area (bedroom, dressing room, wet room) .
The idea was to maximise useful areas and to minimise adjoining areas, while favouring the relationship between the day area on the upper ground floor and the private areas to allow for family evolution and development upstairs and on the lower ground floor.
Integration within the site
The integration within this site takes account of the special environment of the plot located in a low- to medium-density urban area, at the heart of Lavaux, overlooking Lake Geneva.
Environmental impact :
During the construction of the various parts of the buildings, the criteria for sustainable development have been respected.
The management of the demolition of the old building has been exemplary in terms of the treatment of various types of waste.
The materials used for the building's reconstruction have been chosen in order to limit the environmental impact. Grey energy has been taken into account for each material, and an impact evaluation has had an appropriate influence on the choice of these materials.
Priority has been given to insulation that is natural(rockwool) or based on recycled materials.
Heating is produced by a gas-powered condensing boiler. Thermal solar panels ensure the supply of hot water.
A few figures
The SIA Volume is 1,500 m³.
The total surface area is 500 m² of which 450 m² is habitable.
